Restore Your Smile, Keep Your Schedule
CEREC® technology allows us to create strong, customized, tooth-colored ceramic restorations right here in the office, usually within a single appointment. No temporary or second visit is required and the aesthetics are beautiful.
In the course of one visit, we can prepare your damaged tooth, create an optical impression of the tooth, and use CEREC® to design and mill precision restoration, which is then permanently bonded to your tooth. No mess, no discomfort, no wait. Get the smile you want and get back to your life. We know you’ve got more important things to do.
CEREC® restorations are not available for all teeth or situations. Please contact us for an appointment if you are interested in CEREC® restorations.
Most dental restorative methods require more than one visit to the dentist. This means that on the first visit, you get an injection of anesthesia, your tooth prepared, an impression taken, and a temporary restoration put on your tooth. You make a second appointment for a couple of weeks later, get another injection, have the temporary pried off (if it hasn’t fallen off already), and have a 1 Visit Crown permanent restoration put on. Why go to the dentist a second time when you don’t have to? With CEREC®, the procedure is done in a single appointment, start to finish. A CEREC® tooth restoration isn’t just convenient, it is also healthy.
Many years ago, dentists had few options to repair decayed and damaged teeth other than amalgam, gold, and other metals. With CEREC®, Saratoga Dentist Dr. Daniel Zadeh can use strong, tooth colored ceramic materials to restore your teeth to their natural strength, beauty, and function. These materials closely match the composition of natural tooth structure. This means when you eat hot food and then drink something cold, the restoration and tooth expand and contract at almost equal rates. So, your tooth does not crack, and you can go on enjoying your evening. Also, the materials are chemically bonded to your tooth, so your dentist can save as much healthy tooth structure and tissue as possible while providing you with a dental restoration that strengthens your tooth.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”15″][vc_column_text]
What is CEREC®?
The CEREC® procedure was developed at Zurich University and has been successfully developed in dental practices since 1985- i.e. more than 25 years!
CEREC® (CERamic REConstruction) is a process that allows Dr. Zedah to restore damaged teeth with a natural looking, ceramic replacement dental crown in one short visit. Traditionally, restoring a tooth with a ceramic crown or onlay has required multiple visits because of the process required to actually create the replacement, usually involving a dental lab. Impressions are typically taken then sent away to the lab to be created. In the meantime, the dentist would create a temporary crown. Then once the permanent crown or onlay is back from the lab you would return to the dentist’s office to have the temporary crown removed and the permanent crown placed.
Now, thanks to CEREC® 3D technology this process of creating a permanent tooth restoration is done in our office the same day![/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”15″][vc_column_text]
How does CEREC® work?
- No Conventional Impressions!
- Instead of an impression, a picture is taken of your damaged tooth using a special camera.
- The picture is then converted to a virtual 3D model using special software.
- The software then uses an extensive database and comparisons of surrounding teeth to approximate the shape of the ceramic replacement being created.
- No Temporaries!
- No temporary crown is needed because your permanent one will be ready to bond to your tooth in just a few minutes Using CAD / CAM technology, the new restoration is designed on the computer in every detail, guided by the dentist or technician.
- The computer sends the digital version of the virtual crown or onlay to a milling machine that makes an exact duplicate out of ceramic that is chosen to match your tooth color.
- No long Waiting Periods!
- Your replacement restoration is finished and polished and is then bonded to your natural tooth by Dr. Zadeh. It is now ready for immediate chewing duty.
What are the advantages of CEREC®?
The primary benefit of a CEREC® restoration is that you can have your tooth completely restored in just one session. Thanks to this technology, we’re able to accurately create a restoration custom-fitted to your tooth while you wait.
Another benefit of a CEREC® restoration is that it’s virtually impossible to tell it’s not your original tooth. Because the restoration is created using metal-free, tooth-colored ceramic material, is mimics the natural beauty of your tooth.
Finally, a bonded CEREC® restoration allows us to preserve more healthy tooth material than some of the older techniques, creating a stronger, yet more conservative result.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”15″][vc_tta_accordion spacing=”5″ gap=”5″ c_icon=”triangle” active_section=”15″][vc_tta_section title=”What You Should Know About CEREC” tab_id=”1443040941886-1d3bf237-25ac”][vc_column_text]CEREC® is proven technology, with two decades of clinical research and documentation.
